The Confederation of African Football, CAF have released a Final list of Nominees for various Awards including the CAF player of the Year Award.
The CAF Award is an annual Award Given to the Best in Africa in each available Categories.

The categories of Awards available Includes, Player of the Year (Men), Inter-Club Player of the Year (Men), Young Player of the Year (Men), Coach of the Year (Men), National team of the Year and club of the year.

This Years award has been Dominated by clubs and players from Senegal and Egypt as both Nations have the Most Nominations in Various Categories.
One of the most Prestigious and highly Anticipated of all Categories is the Men's Player of the Year Award and This Category has been Dominated by players in Europe top 5 leagues especially the English Premier League.

Nominated Players for the Men's Award includes Riyad Mahrez, Karl Toko Ekambi, Vincent Aboubakar, Sebastien Haller, Mohamed Salah, Naby Keita, Achraf Hakimi, Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly and Sadio Mane.
Disappointingly, No Nigerian Player Made it to the Final list. The only Nominated Nigerian at the Preliminary List, Moses Simon of Nantes hasn't made it to the Final list. Akinkunmi Amoo as well hasn't made it to the final list of Young Player of the Year Award.
