Xavi returned to Barcelona after 6 years he left to Join Qatari side Al-Sadd before subsequently becoming the coach of the team in 2019. Xavi enjoyed a successful tenure as Al-Sadd head coach, winning a couple of Silverwares with the team in just 2 years.

With the current turnout of things for FC Barcelona, the club has endured a Torrid Start to the season which began with the Departure of Lionel Messi and accumulation of poor results which led to the Sacking of Dutch Gaffer, Ronald Koeman.

Barcelona turned their attention to Xavi Hernandez whose Contract with Al-Sadd was still running and contacts were made with the club and a deal was struck. Barcelona reportedly paid the £5m Release clause of Xavi and Al-Sadd agreed to let him leave.
