The much Anticipated Interim Head Coach of Manchester United, Ralf Rangnick once opened up on how he snubbed the Chelsea's coaching Job Opportunity as well as his role in the Managerial development of Thomas Tuchel.

Ralf Rangnick is a top priority for Manchester United to replace Caretaker Coach, Michael Carrick, following the Sacking of Norwegian Gaffer, Ole Gunnar Solskjær whose spell at United wasn't a fruitful one after about 4 Years of trophy drought. 

Ralf Rangnick, 58, has previously Managed top clubs such as Schalke and Leipzig. The manager also Boasts of 7 Major Trophies in his Managerial career.


In February 2021, Ralf Rangnick who is expected to manage Manchester United until the End of the season opened up on how he declined an offer to coach Chelsea on a short time.

Reacting to the contact made by Chelsea when a replacement for Frank Lampard was being sought after, Ralf Ragnick replied: (Via talksport)

 "I said, I would love to come and work with you, but I cannot do it for four months. I am not an interim coach."

Chelsea opted to go for Rangnick's Compatriot, Tuchel who guided the team To a UCL triumph within months, adding the super cup to it as well. 


Rangnick added: “Thomas became a coach through me. He was my player at Ulm and had to finish his career because of knee problems."

“I gave him a job as our Under-15 coach. He didn’t even intend being a coach, he was working at a bar in Stuttgart.”
