Super Eagles of Nigeria Overcame a Resilient Cape Verde Team who Suffered a Heartbreaking Equalizing Goal to deprive them of a Point in 2022 World Cup Qualifiers against Nigeria.

The Blue sharks of Cape Verde were the Underdogs going into the game against the Super Eagles but they proved they weren't to be Underrated as they fought tooth and nail against Gernot Rohr Men. 

Cape Verde started the game strongly and got The first goal of the game in the 19th Minute as Tavares raced down the flank after receiving a through ball from team mate before Hitting a close range shot, beating Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye at his Near post. 


Nigeria pushed for an Equalizer and got one in the 30th Minute when Napoli Striker, Victor Osimhen Capitalized on a Defensive error, Pouncing on the loose ball before slotting into the net, leaving the Goalkeeper with no chance.

Both teams went into Halftime with a goal apiece. The second half Started with the Super Eagles pushing for a Goal. Cape Verde were not to Caught asleep as they tightened Their defence Despite, Nigeria's Chidera Ejuke and Moses Simon causing some Big Problems down the Flanks.

The Unthinkable soon happened in the 76th Minute. The Home team hopes of getting a win was shattered into a million pieces as Rocha Santos scored one of the Most Bizarre Owngoal in Football. The Player, trying to give his Goalkeeper the ball from almost halfway line sent a lob shot over his own Goalkeeper who tried to stop the Ball from Crossing the Goal line but didn't succeed.


Super Eagles held on till the end of Second half as they made it 100% record to the Start of their World Cup Qualifying Campaign. 

The Super Eagles maintains their First position in group C, closely followed by Liberia in second position with 3 points. Cape Verde and Central African Republic sits 3rd and 4th respectively on the Qualifier table.
