Out Of contract Former Super Eagles Captain, John Obi Mikel has been linked with a move to Brazilian league side Botafogo according to reports from TransferMarkt.

The 32 years old former Chelsea Midfielder has been without a club ever since terminating his contract with Turkish team,Trabzonspor after a rift with the club pertaining to the Corona Virus Pandemic. Mikel had wanted the league to be called off for the safety of the players and the fans according to his tweet some weeks back.

Recently, Mikel has been linked with a transfer to Botafogo in the Brazilian top division, Serie A. According to TransferMarkt, Mikel is Currently worth 1.5M.

Mikel's Move to Botafogo would be his sixth club outside the shores of Nigeria. Mikel had previously featured for Chelsea, where he spent nine Years. Other clubs includes Tiajin Teda, Lyn Oslo, Middlesbrough and recently, Trabzonspor.
