The Nigeria U-20 Women's team Popularly Known as the Falconet have Kick-started their World Cup Campaign with an Impressive 1-0 win over France.

The U-20 Women's World Cup is currently being hosted in Costa Rica.

Nigeria and France Battled it out for a win in the opening game of Group C but it was the Falconet who got the Upper hand as their Resilience in defense helped them in repelling the French attack as they also push forward in search of a Goal.

The French team got a goal ruled off for a foul on Nigeria's Goalkeeper in the 82nd Minute following a Corner Kick which wasn't properly dealt with by the Nigerian Defense. After a Consultation with the Video Assistant Referee, the Goal was ruled off as Nigeria's Goalkeeper who came out to catch the ball appeared to have been fouled In the Build up to France Goal.

Few minutes after the re-start, Nigeria grabbed their own Goal through Striker flourish Sebastine who kept herself onside as a beautiful through ball fell on her path and she did so well to tuck the ball into the back of the net with her left foot.

The Match Ended 1-0 in Favour of Nigeria whose next Rival is South Korea. Nigeria Takes on South Korea on the 14th of August while France Plays Their Next Game against Canada.
