Super Eagles Striker, Victor Osimhen has spoken positively of himself with sheer determination of surpassing the Goal-Scoring Record held by Late Rashidi Yekini.

Victor Osimhen, undoubtedly the best Striker in the Current Super Eagles squad Making him the First Choice Striker for the Nigerian National team has continued to prove himself whenever he is adorned with the Famous Green and White Jersey for his Country.

The Napoli Youngster at 23 Years of Age, having played 22 games for the Super Eagles boast of 15 goals which is actually the highest ratio of Goal conversion for any striker to have Played for the Super Eagles.

Late Rashidi Yekini who featured for the Super Eagles of Nigeria from 1984 - 1998 is Nigeria's Record Goal Scorer for the National team with 37 goals in 62 appearances.

Victor Osimhen who is 22 Goals shy of that Record is optimistic that he certainly would equal and surpass that record but admitted that it won't be easy.

“I used to say it’s a big shoe to fill but with the kind of quality that I possess, and the kind of determination that I’ve acquired in this my career, I think I can actually break it or even surpass it,” Osimhen told Naijafootballers (Via Soccernet)

“But it won’t be easy and that won’t make me the greatest Nigerian striker ever. We still have the likes of Rashidi Yekini, Odion Ighalo, Obafemi Martins and the rest of them but now I believe it’s my time and it’s my turn and I can utilise it very well.”
