It was a Debut to Forget for Super Eagles Defender, Calvin Bassey who made his First Appearance for Dutch Champions, Ajax in their Fixture against PSV.

Ajax and PSV went head to head in Dutch Super Cup commonly known as the Johan Cruyff Shield on Saturday, 30th of July and it was Last season's Eredevisie Runners-up, PSV who came out victoriously.

PSV beat Ajax 5-3 in an entertaining game which witnessed a Hattrick scored by PSV's Midfielder, Guus til. Former Barcelona Youngster, Xavi simons who was making his first Appearance for PSV Also registered his name on the Score sheet. Cody Gakpo was Also part of the Party for PSV as he bagged a Goal in the 65th Minute.

For Ajax, Matheus Antony, Steven Bergwijn and Mohammed Kudus all got on the score sheet for their side but their goals weren't enough to prevent a defeat.

Nigeria's Calvin Bassey who joined Ajax From Rangers of Scotland made his first Appearance for the Dutch Giants in the game but it was a Debut to Forget for him as he was given his marching orders in the 78th Minute after recklessly stamping his foot on the ankle of a PSV player.

He was initially shown a red card but after VAR's consultation, the decision was overturned and a red Card issued. 

Calvin Bassey had only been on the pitch for 16 Minutes before the incident. He was a second half substitute who was introduced in the 62nd Minute of the Game.
