The indomitable Lions of Cameroon Kicked off their AFCON 2021 Campaign with an important win against Burkina Faso in the Opening Match of the Tournament.

Burkina Faso's Lead was only short-lived and all thanks to a sloppy defending from Captain Bertand Traore, Giving away a Penalty which led to Cameroon's Equalizer in the 40th Minute after VAR Intervention. Cameroon's Striker, Vincent Aboubakar made no mistake as he sent the Goalkeeper the wrong way, Slotting the ball into the back of the net.
Burkina Faso's Sloppy Defense was punished Again after Defender Onguene Brought down a Cameroonian player in the box. This Time around, he Referee didn't need the intervention of a VAR as the Foul was a very Clear one worthy of a Penalty. Again, Vincent Aboubakar stepped up an sent the Goalkeeper the wrong way, Giving Cameroon the lead shortly before Halftime.

The Home team held to their lead in front of their fans as they secured valuable 3 Points in their Quest to Qualify for the Knockout stages.
