Nigeria Super Eagles Midfielder, John Ogu has Made a shocking Revelation, Stating that he was previously Asked by his Portuguese Team coach to fake an Injury just to Avoid honouring a Call-up from the National team.

The 33 Years old has weighed in on the Current Situation of things as regards to some Clubs Refusal to Release players for the AFCON Citing his own experience as one reason why African Football is not being Respected.

According to Ogu, a Coach in the Portuguese League where he previously Played asked him to tell the then Super Eagles coach that he was Injured just to Avoid Being part of the squad for a friendly Match. 

Ogu Wrote On Twitter: 

I'm not even surprised at the situation of them foreign managers or clubs not wanting their players to go represent their country in tournaments. One certain manager in Portugal asked I tell the coach of Eagles then that I was injured so as not to go for a friendly game.1/2

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be traveling to Cameroon for the AFCON Without some Key players Such as Victor Osimhen who is allegedly down with Covid-19 According to his Club Side, Napoli and Emmanuel Dennis whose Club Watford has refused to Release Him.

Coach Austin Eguavoen in an Interview revealed that Emmanuel Dennis made it Clear that the Club has done everything possible to stop his participation at the AFCON Including Using Threats. 

In the Case of Watford, They also face a strong Opposition from Senegal National team as they have refused to Release Senegalese Attacker, Ismaila Sarr for the AFCON according to a statement Released by the Governing Body of Senegalese Football.
