Jorginho is one of the Favourites to win this Year's Ballon D'or. The Player has enjoyed a successful 2021 which saw him won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, Euro 2020 and the UEFA Men's Player of the Year award.
Jorginho faces stiff Competition from the Duo of Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski who have also enjoyed immense Success this Year.
While there's still 'no clear' winner for this year's Ballon D'or, Rio Ferdinand, Former Manchester United Defender Turned Football Pundit has been Left baffled with the Ballon D'or shouts Jorginho has been getting.
The English Man feels that Jorginho stands no chance in winning the Award ahead of Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski. Ferdinand Further stressed that Jorginho is not even the best Player in Chelsea or Italy while citing N'golo Kante and Mohamed Salah as players who are Better of.
"The Jorginho one baffles me, he’s not the best player at Chelsea, he’s not the first name on the team sheet with Italy either," he said on BT Sport, via the Metro.
"He’s a very good player don’t get me wrong and I’m not trying to be disrespectful but I don’t see how he gets on the list with those players [Robert Lewandowski, Lionel Messi and Mohamed Salah], the levels that these guys have been playing at.
"If you look at Chelsea in the running for the Champions League, [N'Golo] Kante was man of the match in five of the six last games. It baffles me.
"He’s won two of the big trophies, I get that, but when you’re putting him up against those other four players it doesn’t make sense to me."
The Ballon D'or Award Presentation comes up on the 29th of November, 2021.
