This Midweek football saw the conclusion of the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League Group stage games with 16 teams advancing to the Knockout stages while 8 others will continue their Journey in the 2nd Tier European Club competition.

Nigeria as a country was sparingly represented in this season's UEFA Champions League with just five players which includes Odion Ighalo (Man Utd), Emmanuel Dennis (Genk),Dennis Okereke (Genk), Zaidu Sanusi (Porto) and Frank Onyeka (Midtjylland).

Of all the five Players, Frank Onyeka of Midtjylland remains the Only Nigerian whose European Journey ended in the UCL group stage as his team could only get two points after registering 2 draws in 6 games coming up against Liverpool, Atalanta and Ajax. Although his team Might have been Knocked out, Frank Onyeka gave his all and was in fine form for his team.He recorded a 71% tackle success rate, finishing as the Most Fouled player in the Group stage while also committing the Most fouls as well.

Nigerian Trio of Emmanuel Dennis, David Okereke and Odion Ighalo would be heading to the Europa League after finishing 3rd in their respective groups. Dennis recorded a goal and an assist in four appearances for Club Brugge. Odion Ighalo had the most disappointing outing in this UCL's Group stage after only featuring for less than a minute all through the whole campaign, making him the Player with the least minute played so far in the UCL. He would hope to get more game time when his team begin their Europa League Journey.
