Agent of Nigerian Goal Keeper, Daniel Akpeyi has come out to speak in defence of his Client who has been going through severe criticism in recent weeks
The Kazier Chiefs Goal keeper as been a subject of Scrutiny and Criticism from Nigerian football faithfuls ever since conceding that Free kick Goal Against Algeria at the AFCON 2019 Semi Final Show down. Riyad Mahrez' well taken free kick was enough to beat Daniel Akpeyi at his Near Post.
While speaking with AllNigeriaSoccer Eddie Ogbemudia who happens to be the Goal keeper's Agent Made it clear that Irrespective of the Criticism the Goalkeeper has faced, it is no way slowing him down as he feels Akpeyi has been doing great in between the sticks
"With all due respect to the Nigerian media who have been doing a tremendous job by supporting every Nigerian player, it is rather unfair to see some quotes credited to Akpeyi which never came from him, though it's not slowing him down, it is pertinent to come all out to distance him from those stories,”
"It could be a situation of some people just trying to drag Akpeyi's name into the mud, but as a thorough professional, giving his best for club and county is his focus now and it will be evident on the field of play when football returns.” He added
Daniel Akpeyi has been on fine form for Kazier Chiefs this season, conceding 15 goals and keeping 9 clean sheets in 19 ABSA Premiership Games this Season.
