Some couple of Nigerians were in action this week and one of them (Taiwo Awoniyi) hit the back of the net to help his side(mainz 05) pushed for a comeback after falling two goals behind against European football hopefuls, FC Cologne who also Paraded Fellow Nigerian, Kingsley Ehizibue. Elsewhere, Anthony Ujah and Union Berlin were no match for League Leaders FC Bayern Munich as they fell were beaten by 2 goals to nothing courtesy of a goal from Robert Lewandowski and Benjamin Pavard.





Taiwo Awoniyi became the youngest Nigerian to score a goal in the bundesliga, Aged 22 years and 279 days. The first Nigerian to achieve this feat is current Union Berlin Striker, Anthony Ujah who bagged the record during his Playing time for FC Mainz against Stuttgart in 2011, Aged 21 years and 21 days.


Taiwo Awoniyi's goal against Cologne was  his first this season and his second in German top flight football. His team Eventually completed the comeback and the ended to goals Apiece.




However, the FIFA U-17 and African U-20 championship winner is hopeful of returning back to parent club Liverpool who are currently trailing Fellow Nigerian, Victor Osimhen. Liverpool are also joined by Manchester United, Chelsea and Possibly Newcastle in a bid to sign the young Nigerian.
