Nigerian Midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has opened up on what it felt like replacing N'golo Kante at Leicester City.

Ndidi was signed by the Foxes in 2017, a year after Leicester City Compleed one of the Most Historic Premier Triumph in History, Clinching the PL trophy in 2016 under head coach, Claudio Ranieri.

 N'golo Kante was one of Leicester City's Stand out Performer in their road to victory during the 2015-16 Premier League Season. The France National team Defensive Midfielder recorded 175 tackles and 156 interception, the Most by Any Player in the league that season.




Kante moved to Chelsea the next season, Leaving a Big gap to be filled by a competent hand in Leicester's City Midfield. The team brought in a certain 20 years old Wilfred Ndidi who was already a house hold name in Belgium, Playing for Genk.

While Speaking on a podcast via Daily star, Ndidi admitted to feeling the Pressure in covering the Huge gap Kante Left in the Midfield before the french man Moved to Chelsea.



"The pressure I had was that they just won the league. Kante left and they were looking for a replacement. Seeing this whole situation, it was very scary for me,"He said

"I was comfortable at Genk but it was like an opportunity for me to actually develop in my career.It was the right time for me to go because Genk wanted me to progress in my career."



"It was difficult at that time because I had to leave for another country and start afresh. Even during training, everyone wanted to see what I can do because the person who just left actually made a mark. So, the pressure was just there."

Ever Since the Departure of Kante from Leicester City, Wilfred Ndidi has been able to Fit in well in to the position. The Nigerian Power House has gone on to feature 110 times for the Foxes, Recording a tackle success rate of 63% compared to Kante's 65% despite playing 39 games less (as at the time of this publication)




This season(2019/2020), Ndidi has well brushed off any comparison between both players edging out in most stats provided by Premier League. His Performance this season has drawn huge praise from Nigerian Legend, Daniel Amokachi who feels that the Midfielder's football has passed Leicester and wants him to secure a move to PSG


On the other hand, Ndidi has been heavily Criticized by one of Former Rangers Goal keeper, Lionel Charbonnier who thinks 17 years old Eduardo Camavinga who plays for rennes is a better footballer than Ndidi. Charbonnier Further Stated that Camavinga has an Ndidi in each leg. Read Full story Here
