Former Skipper of the Nigerian National Team has been rated high above Ivorian and Former Barcelona Midfielder, Yaya Toure.


 Botafogo are believed to be the favourite to sign out of contract Midfielder John Obi Mikel who left his former club Trabzonspor on Mutual Consent. Mikel had earlier called for the cancellation of the Turkish league season due to the outbreak of Covid-19




 Rotenberg President of Brazilian club side, Botafogo are interested in Signing either of Mikel or Yaya Toure but the president believes that the inclusion of Mikel into the team would strengthen the squad and he prefers the Nigerian on the Pitch Over the Ivorian.

 "I talked last week with the two players and with their managers, too. Negotiations continue and only the salary part has not yet been settled," Rotenberg told to ESPN Brazil.



"With Yaya we would gain a lot in terms of marketing and with the fans. With Mikel, the gain would be stronger on the pitch."
